Brand New Vinyl Records Skip

And while some pressing plants are clearly better than others there is a general feeling that many well. I ve gotten into records over the past year and a half. Time for a magic trick. Hi r vinyl this is my first post here.

Is there a way to fix this or do i just have a dud record. I m fairly new to the whole record thing and it s really bugging me that a brand new record skips. Remember the two main culprits the setup and the record and that more often than not it is a turntable or environmental issue when it is a brand new record. Why are they skipping. I m going to correctly guess you are using a crosley. At first i thought it s an old album so i got s new copy brand. I do this with every new record and i never have any issues with pops unless there is a manufacturing defect or something.

When in doubt play the record on a friend s turntable or record shop to rule out the vinyl itself. While it may occur on old records due to storage paper sleeves or dust in the environment new records may also have dust or dirt. I tested other records and they don t skip.
